It is certainly hard to believe the holidays are again upon us. Many of us will join our families for holiday dinners centered around turkey. Had enough with the turkeys on the Island? We have gathered some turkey vs. vehicle pointers and alternatives main dishes and unique sides sure to please everyone this holiday season.
Hey Turkey, Don’t Be a Turkey!
Fellow Staten Islanders may opt for an alternative main dish this year because we are fed up with our native turkeys! Residents in Dongan Hills were fed up this summer. The wild birds ate their way through the neighborhood’s gardens, leaving droppings all over for small children to step in. The Fennimore family even reported this summer that a large mama bird and her babies nested right on the front lawn! (newyork.cbslocal.com, 2019)
There is no easy explanation as to why the turkeys opt for life on the Island, but they can be dangerous and cause damage to your vehicle, making dent repair necessary. Straightline Collision Staten Island offers auto body repair help and can provide answers for collision repair questions. Following are examples of common vehicle damage one might see resulting from a collision with or simply from a wild turkey.
Though you may be tempted, remember it is illegal to kill the wild turkeys or remove them without a state permit.
Fed up with turkey? Consider one of these popular alternatives as a holiday main dish:
